"I have seen impressive results with my oldest brother who is 75 y.o. who had Crohn’s Disease since age 27. He has been on cortisone all that time and has only 8 feet of bowel left. His skin was paper thin, permanently bruised all over and would bleed from the slightest bump. After 4 weeks of the VerryBerry he stopped bleeding from impact and his bruising is clearing up. I have no doubts it is having equally good effects on all his other organs and tissues as well. The VerryBerry is great!”

An organic berry source of high anthocyanins with promising anti-cancer potential
Organic Maqui berry is a deeply purpled berry collected from the far south (Patagonia) region of Chile, one
of the most pristine places left on the planet. The Mapachus Indians traditionally use Maqui berries for a
variety of ailments including sore throat, diarrhea, ulcers, hemorrhoids, fever, and tumors.
Maqui is richer in total phenolics than any of the “super fruits,” with a high concentration of the flavonoid
Quercetin. The extraordinary concentration of anthocyanins in Maqui powder and the important presence
of polar polyglycosylated derivatives, specifically DELPHINIDIN aglycones which are target molecules for
cancer, makes Maqui a promising plant/berry source for anti-cancer applications.
Oregon State University’s Food Science Labs in March 2008 found¹ Maqui to contain predominantly
delphinidins (71%) and cyanidins (21%), one of the highest values ever recorded.
In vitro, low concentrations of Delphinidin (aglycone of anthocyanin), present in high concentrations1 in
Maqui, inhibited VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor– 2) phosphorylation, induced tyrosine
phosphorylation of VEGF receptor leading to inhibition of downstream signaling triggered by VEGFR-2.
In vivo, Delphinidin was able to suppress basic fibroblast growth factor-induced vessel formation in the
mouse Matrigel plug assay. The identification of delphinidin as a naturally occurring inhibitor of VEGF
receptors suggests that this molecule possesses important anti-angiogenic properties that may be
helpful for the prevention and treatment of cancer².
Additionally, Maqui has been shown to attenuate allergic reactions, increase capillary permeability,
improve eyesight, and stabilize healthy blood sugar levels,
Note – Maqui has an ORAC score of 90,000, three times that of Acai or Mangosteen, some ten times higher than
blueberries. However, ORAC score alone may not give the full picture. TRAP (Total Radical Trapping Potential) is a
measure of the amount of free radicals that can be trapped and therefore represents the total antioxidants
present. TAR (Total Antioxidant Reactivity) indicate the capacity to decrease steady state of free radical concentration
and is a better index of antioxidant quality. Total phenols positively correlate to TRAP and TAR.
